This cake is a regular on the buffet table in our Breakfast Room each morning.

At Vignamaggio breakfast is part of your stay: each morning we offer our guests a variety of homemade cakes and this must be one the simplest and most popular recipes.

  • A 125 ml jar of yoghurt
  • 1 jar of sunflower oil
  • 2 jars of sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 3 jars of cake flour
  • 1 tsp vanilla extrract
  • 15ml baking powder
  • icing sugar for dusting
  • butter (to butter the cake pan)

Preheat the oven to 180° and butter and flour a 24 cm cake pan.

Place the yoghurt, sugar, oil, vanilla and egg into a mixing bowl and mix with an electric mixer.

Then slowly add the flour and baking powder and mix well.

Lastly pour it into the cake pan and bake for about 30/35 minutes.

Allow the cake to cool and then lightly dust with icing sugar.
